In case you missed my last roundup, I recently started a monthly newsletter featuring various thoughts and updates. This week, I needed a break from my usual writing schedule and spent my extra time creating a professional writing portfolio—since I’m still looking for work. I’m sharing it here in case you know anyone who needs a writer!
You can find my website here!
Commonplace Quote:
I just shared this in my most recent article, but I love it so much that I had to share it again!
“The long Platonic tradition, then, taught Lewis two things: to see the world as a symphony but always to take this symphony (or cathedral) as a symbol or sacrament or transposition, which gestures at something beyond. The world itself is but a sketchy translation of a poem that no one has ever heard.”

Book Recommendations:
For middle-grade fiction, these are some of my all-time faves.
Holes, by Louis Sachar
Okay for Now, by Gary D. Schmidt
The Night Gardener, by Jonathan Auxier

Scattershot Thoughts:
Below are a couple of social media posts I created in February.
Strong and Weak Girls
Our Kid’s Lives are Stories, Not Ledgers
Till next time—cheers!
The recap from the parent post really hit home for me, lately I have had some character challenges with my eldest daughter when it comes to disciplining her lips. I realize that her story is not complete. Thanks for the round up, enjoy your work and I’m sure more folks will too as you seek more opportunities. I don’t have a huge circle, but will sure keep my eyes open for you
I just heard that quote on Lewis when listening to Jason Baxter's book, "The Medieval Mind of C.S. Lewis" this week, so it was so fun to see it again here! Also, Okay For Now is my all time favorite MG book and it just makes me smile whenever I see someone recommending it! Have you read The Labors of Hercules Beal? It's probably my second favorite of his, though Trouble is a close contendender :) Oooh, favorite MG books...
